Some customers are wondering what is the difference between icon packs with different colors and actions. There has also been an increase in cases of Google deleting icon packs due to "Creating multiple apps with highly similar content and user experience." and it also affected us...
Therefore, I, PashaPuma Design, wrote this article (comparison).
Pix Material Icon Pack
This is the first icon pack of this line. It was released in 2020. This is an adaptive icon (which can change shape now only with a custom launcher) made in a linear style in Material2. The icon pack is updated with the latest style. For an icon pack, the main description is Screenshot.Pix Material Colors Icon Pack
This is an adaptive icon (which can change shape now only with a custom launcher) made in a linear style, background of icon is made in pastel colors, icon in a brighter accent.Pix Material Dark Icon Pack
This is an adaptive icon (which can change shape now only with a custom launcher) made in a linear style, background of icon is made in dark gray color, icon in a accent color.Next up is the Pix Material line of icon packs with dynamic icon packs that can change color. This happened with the release of Android 10 and a full Day/Night theme with a toggle. And then I thought why not apply this to icons...
Pix Minimal Black/White Icon Pack
And then we made this icon pack. It's also a responsive icon (which can now only change shape with a custom launcher) in a linear style. We added a day/night theme to it and wow - it works. But this required Re-applying the icon pack after switching the device theme from Light to Dark and vice versa. This didn't change automatically as the icons remained in the launcher's cache, and reapplying the package acts like installing the pack. It was the first package of such a plan and launchers did not know how to work with it fully.
Pix Material You Icon Pack
With the release of Android 12, the possibilities for icons have become even greater. Monet color engine (MaterialYou) appeared in Android. And based on my experience with working on the Day/Night theme, it wasn't too hard for me to implement Monet for the icons. And the icons began to change colors depending on the wallpaper, but it was also necessary to reapply them because they remain in the launcher cache. One color for all icons (as per Pixel) was very unfamiliar and difficult to find apps in app drawer. That's why I made this icon pack in three accents Material You Palette: All blue icons - Accent_1, Red icons - Accent_2 and so on. It turned out to be an excellent palette that allows you to easily find the right application. And this pack has become very popular as it is a new word in icon pack.
The theme with the automatic change of icons was immediately picked up by the developers of the Niagara launcher and implemented the automatic change of these icons. Later AIO launcher also did it.
But many users have become dissatisfied with the fact that the package in different Accent colors is not like Google Pixel and besides, there is no dark mode. And we create the Pix Material You Light/Dark and more on that later in our article.
Pix Material You Light/Dark Icon Pack
And then this icon pack appears and becomes no less popular. It strictly follows Monet's Google Pixel colors and has a dark mode that changes to match the theme of the device. It also needs to be reapplied when changing the wallpaper and the theme of the device (I wrote about the reasons above). Just like Pix Material You, it changes automatically to "Niagara Launcher" and "AIO".
Then thanks to the developer "Hyperion Launcher" who adds support for "Themed Icons" in their launcher (which comes with Android 13) and makes it work for Android 8+, we add also support for "Themed Icons" to this set and check that, Yes, it really is works automatically even on Android 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, 13, 14...(detailed instructions) Earlier I checked it on "Pixel Launcher" using "Shortcuts Maker" (more in this article) on Android 13 and realized that to automatically change the colors of the icons need support for "Themed Icons" on the launcher and in the icon itself. What we did with this icon pack.
Further, the well-known launcher "Lawnchair 12.1" adds permission for icon packs to support "Themed icons" in its launcher (previously there was only LawnIcon - themed icons for Lawnchair). And I add this resolution to Pix Material You Light/Dark icon pack. And wow - it works on any device with Android 8+ as well as "Hyperion Launcher" - the color changes automatically. But you need a Dev version of "Lawnchair 12.1 Dev" not lower than # 1414 (also see instructions in this article).
And the package is becoming even more popular, and besides, there are already 13000+ icons in the package and it themes almost all applications for many. And everyone likes it.
Pix Monochrome Icon Pack
And so this icon pack of the color variant in black and white is being released at the request of users who wanted to see it. It varies from device theme - Light Mode - icons are white with dark glyph, Dark Mode - icons invert colors - dark background with light glyph.I drew a table of icons for the Pix Material line so that it is in one image.
OneYou Icon Pack
And now OneUi comes out and they also have their own icons, and they look completely different, have their own different colors, shades. Having previously studied the Material You palettes, I'm releasing OneYou Icon Pack using palettes like the Samsung ones, and I think it's a good idea to digress from pixel design, try something new. This icon pack also has a Light/Dark Mode and is color-coded as OneUi. But support starts with Android 12+ and it also needs to be reapplied on many launchers except for Niagara and AIO.
OneYou Accent Icon Pack
And again, at the request of users who want to see icons only in light mode (using dark mode to have light icons) we are releasing this package, but with a changed palette (so that it does not look the same as Odin). The icons have a light accent background and a richer icon glyph. Also changes the color of the wallpaper on Android 12+, but with repeated application, except for Niagara and AIO.OneYou Themed Icon Pack
Another option OneYou. "Themed" - is support for "Themed Icons" from Android 13. It comes in Pixel Material You coloring are a light background with a dark glyph and vice versa in dark mode. There is also support for Android 8+ with Hyperion and Lawnchair 12.1 Dev Launchers with automatically color change (detailed instructions in this article). Also auto color change on Niagara and AIO on Android 12+ and using Shortcut Maker on Pixel Launcher (as said here).
I drew a table of icons for the OneYou line so that it is in one image.
